Commercial Moving

Office, IT, retail and medical relocations across Sacramento, phased around your trading hours with inventory documentation and certificates of insurance.

The cost of a commercial move is rarely the invoice. It is the days the business cannot operate. Everything we do on a commercial job is designed around that number, which is why most of the work happens before anything is lifted.

We move offices, server rooms, retail floors and medical practices across the Sacramento region, and we schedule around your trading hours rather than ours.

What we move

Offices and cubicle systems. Workstation disassembly and reassembly, including modular systems, filing, storage and seating.

Server rooms and IT equipment. Racks, servers, network hardware and workstations, handled as a distinct phase so systems are up before staff arrive.

Retail stores and showrooms. Fixtures, display units, stock and point-of-sale equipment.

Medical offices and clinics. Equipment, records and furnishings, with the handling that patient records require.

Inventory documentation is available on any commercial job — a numbered, signed manifest at both ends.

How we phase a move

Few businesses need everything to arrive at once, and trying to make that happen is what causes lost days. The usual structure:

Phase one — ahead of the move. Archives, storage, surplus furniture, anything not used weekly. Moving this early makes the critical weekend dramatically simpler.

Phase two — the main move. Typically Friday evening through the weekend. Desks, chairs, cabinets, equipment.

Phase three — go-live. IT reconnection and testing before staff return, not alongside them.

For larger offices we move department by department over successive weekends, so part of the business keeps trading throughout. It costs more in crew time and almost always costs far less in lost operating days.

Certificates of insurance

Most commercial buildings require a certificate of insurance from the mover before granting access, naming the building owner and management as additional insured, often with specified coverage limits.

Send us the requirements from both buildings as early as you can and we will issue the certificate. This is one of the most common reasons a move gets turned away at the door, and it is entirely avoidable with notice.

Records and sensitive material

Client files, personnel records, financial documents and anything under a confidentiality or regulatory obligation need handling that general office contents do not.

We can move these in sealed, numbered containers with a signed manifest at both ends, kept separate from general cartons, with a named person responsible for the count.

What we need from you

The move goes well or badly depending on four things, and three of them are yours:

  1. A floor plan for the destination, with every desk, cabinet and machine positioned and labelled. We label the items to match.
  2. One coordinator with authority to make decisions on the day, plus a named contact per department.
  3. Connectivity live and tested at the new site before moving day. Internet provisioning is the usual critical path and routinely takes six to eight weeks, which is why planning starts twelve weeks out rather than four.
  4. Staff packing their own desks the day before, into labelled cartons. Faster, less breakage, fewer complaints.

The building survey

We survey both premises before quoting, and we check the things that stop a move dead rather than just counting furniture:

  • Lift dimensions and weight capacity
  • Loading bay access and permitted hours
  • Door widths along the route from bay to floor
  • Where power and data outlets actually are
  • Whether the building requires out-of-hours work

Older and converted buildings in Midtown and downtown Sacramento are where this matters most. A desk that will not fit the lift becomes a stairwell carry, and that changes the crew size and the timeline — which we would both rather know at the survey than on the night.

Scheduling

We work evenings and weekends on commercial jobs as standard, because that is usually when a business can afford to be down. Tell us your first trading day at the new address and we will work backwards from it.
